The celebration commenced with a welcoming speech from the President of the Board, Jones Wu, who expressed gratitude to all supporters. Speeches by distinguished guests, including Yongchang Zhu, Deputy Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco, Board member Richard Cooc, and Captain Novosel from CHP then followed. The speeches underscored the importance of the Center to the Asian community, and its long track record of developing youth and preserving Chinese language and culture.
The highlight of this evening was a variety of performances meticulously prepared by teachers and students. It was a heartwarming performance by the young students enjoyed thoroughly by the parents and guests. There was also an exciting raffle drawing which was the culmination of a raffle sale by students to raise funds for school operations. The students demonstrated tremendous school spirit in uniting to achieve some outstanding results from the raffle sale.
